Downstream Processing Technician

Location: Slough, United Kingdom

Shift Pattern: 6am to 6PM

The Role

The Downstream Processing (DSP) Technician will be responsible for the daily execution of the buffer operation, learn and carry out the basic skills used in a GMP environment, help run the area, and communicate with other teams. The Technician will work on buffer preparation activities and perform daily tasks.

What You Will Do

  • Formulate buffers to deliver on time in full to production
  • Complete batch records in relation to buffer formulations
  • Prepare buffers and transport them to purification facilities when required; dispense solid and liquid chemical reagents and transport to buffer preparation area
  • Understand COSHH requirements
  • Measure pH and conductivity
  • Schedule buffers
  • Filter test
  • Perform routine cleaning of buffer preparation facilities

What We Are Looking For

  • Secondary school or maximum Bachelor’s degree
  • Proactive individual with good written and spoken English and basic mathematics skills
  • Previous experience in a GMP environment would be beneficial
  • Willing to learn the skills and techniques needed to maintain and increase service given to customers
  • PC literate – able to use Word, Excel and Email
