Overview

Join the AMD-Architecture, Middleware, Data Management & Enterprise Service department and contribute to the Data Engineering & Business Intelligence (DEBI) function responsible for designing and developing enterprise standard technologies that support data integration, processing, warehousing, mining & reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design and develop EDM and data solutions as part of multiple initiatives across international MUFG entities (MUFG Securities, MUFG Bank and MUMSS).
  • Drive innovation and automation to deliver the highest quality service to business partners.
  • Ensure that development is cost effective and aligned with business requirements and architectural guidelines.
  • Mentor and lead other EDM resources within the team.
  • Delivery support in estimations for different business initiatives.
  • Ensure solutions follow technology defined policies, SDLC, and best practices.
  • Promote a dynamic, delivery-driven culture in partnership with the BAU team and respond to business change demands.
  • Ensure designs meet customer requirements and MUFG/AMD standards; provide data support across the EMEA region with a focus on supportability and cost reduction.
  • Document data definitions and design specifications to required standards for transparency and supportability.
  • Lead and mentor the EDM development team to deliver on project/change initiatives.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with other development and support teams and with business areas receiving Technology-delivered projects.
  • Collaborate with developers, testers and end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction.
  • Contribute to planning, execution and verification of integration and systems testing; assist users with UAT planning and execution.
  • Ensure solutions meet development targets while maintaining high quality.
  • Gather business requirements from users and translate them into detailed design documents; document functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Liaise with external and internal clients, Change teams and vendors to support project development functions.
  • Risk & Compliance: ensure activity complies with policies, procedures and controls; adhere to change management and privileged production access processes.
  • Culture and Leadership: promote MUFG values, foster inclusivity, drive responsiveness and value-driven solutions; lead by example on cyber awareness and strengthen stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Essential: Advanced proficiency in databases (SQL Server or Snowflake).
  • Experience with low-code/no-code data engineering/ETL tools (e.g., Markit EDM v19.2+, or similar such as Informatica PowerCenter).
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure and services used in a Financial Services organization.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, software development methods, tools, and techniques.
  • In-depth knowledge of Business and Systems Analyst practices and banking operations.
  • Strong understanding of AI fundamentals, Large Language Models (LLMs), and modern data platforms for AI-enabled outcomes.
  • Preferred: Experience with Cloud (AWS or Azure), external tools/APIs, data pipelines, lineage, scripting (Python, PowerShell), and BI tools (Power BI, SSRS, Tableau).
  • Knowledge of modern data architectures (lakehouse, data mesh) and ETL/ELT tools (dbt, Databricks).
  • Source control (GitHub, Subversion), batch scheduling (Control-M, AutoSys), and CI/CD concepts.
  • Degree or equivalent experience; strong track record of delivering large, multi-national projects; experience leading senior technology professionals.
  • Excellent communication, business analysis, and stakeholder management skills; strong delivery orientation and ability to work under tight deadlines.

Skills

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal).
  • Strong product knowledge across IAM/PAM concepts, RBAC, SoD, and identity lifecycle management.
  • Understanding of cyber risk, regulatory expectations, and governance regarding access controls and monitoring.
  • Technical ability to perform system analysis, proficient with Excel and basic SQL.
  • Experience in managing teams and delivering complex projects with an international scope.
  • Strong problem-solving, numerical aptitude, and attention to detail.
