Course Lead in Electrical Installation

Hugh Baird College, an Ofsted Outstanding provider, is seeking an experienced and motivated professional to join our Building Services team as Course Lead in Electrical Installation.

This is an exciting opportunity for an established electrical educator or experienced industry professional with teaching experience who is ready to take the next step into curriculum leadership, quality assurance and team development.

About the Role

As Course Lead in Electrical Installation, you will play a pivotal role in driving high standards, shaping an employer‑led curriculum, and ensuring outstanding learner outcomes across Electrical Installation provision.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high‑quality teaching across Levels 1–3, including:
    • 16–18 learners
    • Adult learners
    • Apprentices
  • Lead on quality assurance, assessment standards and verification activity
  • Support and guide teaching colleagues, leading by example
  • Oversee course management activities such as:
    • learner registrations
    • assessment schedules
    • qualification claims
  • Contribute to curriculum development, innovation and employer engagement
  • Maintain industry relevance through CPD and sector engagement

Criteria

  • Level 3 (or above) Electrical Installation qualification
  • Teaching qualification (PGCE / CertEd) or equivalent
  • Relevant, recent industry experience
  • Proven ability to motivate and inspire learnersStrong communication, organisation and feedback skills
