We are looking for an enthusiastic GP vet to join our team. We have a lovely welcoming team across 8 sites in Bristol, run by an experienced team of Clinical Directors and Vets, many of whom have been with the practice for more than a decade! This role is based predominantly in our main hospital, but some afternoon consulting sessions (from 4pm-6.30pm) will be based in one of our branch practices. We feel this role would suit an experienced veterinary surgeon with a medicine bias and confident skills in ultrasonography.

How You’ll Make a Difference

  • Predominantly a mix of consulting ( 1 day a week) and inpatient/ward shifts (3 days a week)
  • Inpatient/ward shifts involve looking after our inpatients including any investigation required
  • Seeing any urgent/emergency appointments throughout the day
  • Consult at our hospital either all day or consult in the morning and travel to a nearby branch practice to consult from 4pm

Working Pattern

  • 38.7 hours per week
  • 8.30am-6.30pm (1hr unpaid lunch), 4 day week. Set 1 day off / week
  • 3 in 11 weekends: Fishponds 9am-4pm (1hr unpaid lunch), Zetland Road Hospital Inpatients/Emergencies 8.30am-5pm (1hr unpaid lunch), Zetland Road Hospital Consults 8.30am-5pm (1hr unpaid lunch)

You Might Be a Great Fit If…

  • A Veterinary degree and registration (or eligibility to register) with the RCVS
  • Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues
