Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home (EBD)
Location: Stafford, Staffordshire
Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Job Type: Full Time – 37.5 hours per week
Welcome Bonus: £7,500
The Role
As Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the leadership, management and performance of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding and regulatory compliance. You will lead a dedicated team, creating a stable, nurturing and child‑centred environment where young people can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strong, effective leadership to the residential care team.
- Ensure the home operates in full compliance with Ofsted regulations and Children’s Homes Regulations.
- Deliver outstanding, child‑focused care and promote positive outcomes.
- Lead on safeguarding and ensure the welfare of all children remains the highest priority.
- Recruit, develop and mentor a high‑performing staff team.
- Manage budgets, staffing and resources effectively.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare for Ofsted inspections.
- Build positive relationships with families, local authorities and external professionals.
- Drive continuous improvement across all aspects of the service.
About You
- Previous experience as a Registered Manager or an experienced Deputy Manager ready to step into registration.
- Significant experience within Children’s Residential Care, ideally supporting young people with EBD.
- A thorough understanding of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding and children’s legislation.
- Level 3 Diploma in Children & Young People’s Workforce (or equivalent).
- QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare, or a willingness to work towards the qualification.
- Strong leadership, communication and people management skills.
- A genuine passion for improving the lives of vulnerable children and young people.
