Graduate Aspiring Autism, Psychology & ADHD Learning Support Assistant – Primary School, Lambeth

Location: Lambeth, South London

Job Type: Full-Time | Term-Time Only

Salary: £108.35 per day

Start Date: September 2026 / Immediate Start Available

The Role

As a Graduate Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, and associated learning needs.
  • Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum and participating fully in classroom activities.
  • Support the development of communication, social interaction, attention, and emotional regulation skills.
  • Implement strategies recommended by the SENCO and external professionals.
  • Help create a structured, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers and support staff.
  • Support intervention programmes designed to improve academic and social outcomes.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for graduates who:

  • Hold a degree in Psychology, Education, Criminology, Sociology, Health & Social Care, or a related field.
  • Have a genuine interest in Autism, ADHD, child development, and special educational needs.
  • Are considering a future career in psychology, therapy, teaching, or education.
  • Demonstrate patience, resilience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
  • Have experience working with children or young people through tutoring, mentoring, youth work, sports coaching, voluntary work, or educational settings.
  • Previous experience supporting Autism or ADHD is beneficial but not essential.
