Position
Otterburn Primary School & Nursery is looking to recruit a Unit Manager (School Cook) on a permanent contract. This is an exciting opportunity to lead our school kitchen and play a key role in providing nutritious, high‑quality meals for our pupils.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook and serve meals, accommodating special dietary requirements.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, health and safety and cleanliness.
- Manage stock ordering and storage.
- Complete required administration and ensure efficient day‑to‑day operation of the kitchen in line with Northumberland County Council procedures.
Requirements
- Organised, reliable and able to work independently.
- Relevant experience in a catering environment.
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (essential).
- Experience of working within a school kitchen (advantage).
Contract Details
Permanent contract, working 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 1.30pm, term time plus five training days.
