Role Description

Arcadis is recruiting a WAA Support Coordinator to support our commitments to the Welsh Apprenticeship Alliance (WAA), providing an affordable route into professional careers as Quantity Surveyors and Engineers for talented young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in Wales. The role involves day‑to‑day management of current apprentices, recruiting each new annual intake, and supporting apprentices in progressing to successful professional careers.

Role Accountabilities

Apprentice Recruitment and Employment Support

  • Interview and recruit the annual intake of new apprentices.
  • Identify job opportunities within the Welsh construction supply chain.
  • Match new apprentices with suitable employers and support the securing of employment opportunities.

Stakeholder Engagement and Partnership Working

  • Manage quarterly collaboration workshops for apprentices and employers.
  • Advise supply chain partners on the latest changes to apprenticeship funding and levy arrangements.
  • Communicate with colleges and universities to help ensure apprentices remain on track and are progressing effectively.

Events and Promotion

  • Attend annual marketing activities and apprentice award events to promote the programme and celebrate apprentice achievements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent, training in MS Project and MS Office.
  • Good IT skills with MS Project; professional typing skills an advantage.
  • Ability to work from the Cardiff office two days per week.
  • Willingness to undertake and successfully complete a DBS check.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel intermittently across Wales.
  • Confident, engaging and self‑motivated, able to remain task‑focused and work autonomously.
  • Ability to promote and market the WAA effectively online and through direct engagement with employers.
