Job Description:

Responsibilities

To encourage and support the team to provide a safe and stimulating environment for the children, offering creative and appropriate play and relaxation opportunities. To promote the club image and ethos, ensuring the implementation of all club systems. To inform the WAC leader of any cancellations, amendments, or bookings in accordance with the club’s registration terms and conditions.

To assist the WAC leader in maintaining records of members’ details and information required to meet the individual needs of the children. To supervise all staff, including volunteers, ensuring all registration and supervision procedures are adhered to.

To record and inform parents of any incidents or accidents relating to their children, obtaining the parent’s signature on the appropriate documentation. Administer first aid as appropriate. To build and encourage club‑parent partnerships, promote communication and involvement, and facilitate new ideas.

To ensure correct levels of supervision and care at all times, never placing children in a vulnerable or wanting situation. To assist the club with promotional activities and encourage new membership.

To perform and supervise the day‑to‑day organisation and operational aspects of the club, providing a safe, stimulating, fun, approachable, and well‑managed after‑school club.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications: An appropriate childcare qualification and/or willingness to train.

  • Safeguarding and recruitment: The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

  • Vetting: A full Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure, proof of ID, social media checks, medical clearance, and right‑to‑work checks in the UK.

  • Organised and reliable, with strong attention to detail.
  • Good communicator, both verbally and in writing.
  • Willing to learn and take on a variety of tasks.
  • Experience of working with children.
  • Good level of literacy and numeracy.
  • Patient, engaging, caring and creative.
  • Able to work in a team.
  • Self‑motivated.

Working Pattern

Part‑time, permanent. Grade 5, 7.5 hours per day, 39 weeks (38 term time + 1 week holiday). Pays £4,368 (actual).

Working hours: 7:30–9:00am, Monday to Friday.
