Overview

Shift Pattern

Monday – Thursday 08:00 – 16:00, 15:30 on a Friday or a 5‑week shift rota.

Positions available

Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Technician – mechanical or electrical (3 posts). Applicants should specify the discipline in their application.

Mechanical Technician

Requirements:

  • Time‑served mechanical engineer with a recognised mechanical apprenticeship.
  • Qualified to SVQ/HNC level (or currently working towards this qualification).
  • Minimum of 5 years post‑apprenticeship experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out reactive and planned preventative maintenance across the hospital campus.
  • Provide specialist technical services in all building‑services disciplines, including plumbing, HVAC, building and electrical systems.
  • Accept a wide range of cross‑trade duties post‑training and plan and prioritise workload to deliver high‑standard service.

Electrical Technician

Requirements:

  • Time‑served electrician qualified to the 18th edition wiring regulations.
  • Recognised electrical apprenticeship with a qualification to SVQ/HNC level.
  • Minimum of 5 years post‑apprenticeship experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out reactive and planned preventative maintenance across the hospital campus.
  • Provide specialist technical services in all building‑services disciplines, including mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, building and electrical systems.
  • Accept a wide range of cross‑trade duties post‑training and plan and prioritise workload to deliver high‑standard service.

Additional Information

As from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours per week, with a corresponding increase in hourly rate to keep pay unchanged.
