Apprentice Mechanical Fitter/Plumber

This role is a fixed term contract of 44 months
For the first 12 months you will be paid the national apprentice wage of £15,642.90 per annum . From month 13 to the end of contract, you will receive the national pay vs your age.For existing members of staff, Annex 30 may apply, of which pay rates may differ. Job responsibilities
#TeamMKUH are hiring an Apprentice Mechanical Fitter/Plumber to undertake the level 3 Plumbing and Domestic Heating Technician Apprenticeship. You will learn how to complete maintenance repairs and minor improvement to ensure compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures. You will learn how to work on water systems, ventilation systems, steam systems, air tube systems, heating and cooling plants, and other mechanical equipment.You will need to have a willingness to learn, a strong interest in plumbing and be ready to work with and without supervision, when applicable. You will be working collaboratively with the Estates Services Manager, Maintenance Manager, Mechanical Supervisor and Estates Officers.
The apprenticeship programme is delivered by our external NHS-approved training provider. You will attend college one day per week and spend the other four days embedding your new learning within your role at the hospital. Please note, the college campus is in Bicester, so you must have a means of travel, and be willing to cover the time and cost to travel there each week.To apply, you must have evidence of Maths & English GCSE passes (or equivalent) and all other specifications noted in the person specification. You must be physically fit and well (the role requires some lifting and handling tasks).
