We are seeking an Electrical Engineer (Shift) to play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional building services maintenance, supporting the ambition to become the world’s greatest service organisation.

This role directly enables clients to operate efficiently by ensuring electrical systems are safe, reliable, and performing at optimal levels.

Job Description

Reporting to the Supervisor, the Electrical Engineer (Shift) is responsible for providing high-quality electrical and building services across client properties within a 24/7 operational environment.

Working a 4 on, 4 off (days and nights) 12-hour shift pattern, the role combines proactive and reactive maintenance to maintain operational excellence and support consistent service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out inspections, maintenance, repairs, and fault-finding on electrical equipment in line with standards and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Monitor systems and diagnose faults, dismantle equipment, replace defective components, and ensure proper calibration.
  • Test and calibrate electrical systems using precision instruments to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Plan and prioritise work assignments, selecting appropriate tools, methods, and materials for each task.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, regulations, and company health and safety policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and work orders, including estimating time and materials required.
  • Coordinate with clients, managers, and contractors, including issuing permits and overseeing contractor activities.
  • Identify facility issues, recommend improvements, and ensure all scheduled maintenance tasks are completed on time.

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

  • City & Guilds 2365 or 2357 Level 3 and NVQ 2356 AM2, or equivalent qualifications listed.
  • City & Guilds 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations (BS:7671:2018), preferably with A2 Amendment.
  • Proven experience in fault finding, repairs, installations, and inspection/testing.
  • Experience delivering both reactive and planned preventative maintenance within FM or building services environments.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements, including risk assessments, method statements, and COSHH.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage workload under pressure.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
