This is a key leadership role, offering the opportunity to influence strategy, strengthen supplier partnerships, and drive operational excellence across a business that designs and manufactures bespoke RF components, assemblies and sub-systems for customers operating in the defence, aerospace, communications and advanced technology sectors.

As we continue to grow, you will play a critical role in ensuring material availability, supplier performance, cost control and delivery excellence across a low-volume, high-complexity manufacturing operation.

What You Will Be Doing

Strategic Supply Chain Leadership

  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned to business objectives and future growth plans.
  • Lead procurement, planning, logistics and materials management activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce lead times and enhance supply chain performance.

Supplier Management & Strategic Sourcing

  • Build and manage relationships with suppliers across RF, electronics, machining, PCB assembly and precision engineering sectors.
  • Identify, qualify and onboard new suppliers to improve capability, capacity and resilience.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements and service levels.
  • Monitor supplier performance and implement improvement plans where required.

Planning, Inventory & Materials Control

  • Oversee demand planning, MRP activities and inventory optimisation.
  • Ensure robust material traceability and configuration control.
  • Work closely with Engineering and Production teams to support prototype builds, long lead‑time planning and design‑for‑manufacture activities.

Logistics & Compliance

  • Manage inbound and outbound logistics activities.
  • Ensure compliance with export controls, customs requirements and relevant quality standards.
  • Support adherence to ISO9001, AS9100, RoHS and REACH requirements.
  • Lead, coach and develop a small supply chain team.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Production, Quality and Commercial functions.
  • Provide regular reporting and insight to senior leadership on performance, risks and opportunities.

What We Are Looking For

We’re looking for a supply chain leader who combines strategic thinking with strong operational delivery and thrives within a technically complex manufacturing environment.

  • Proven experience in a Supply Chain Manager or senior supply chain leadership role.
  • Experience within RF, electronics, aerospace, defence or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Strong understanding of low-volume, high-complexity manufacturing and engineering supply chains.
  • Demonstrable experience in strategic sourcing, supplier development, contract negotiation and supplier performance management.
  • Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and data-driven decision making.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and leadership skills.
  • Degree qualified in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • CIPS qualification (or working towards accreditation).
  • Knowledge of export controls, ITAR/EAR and regulated industry requirements.

Security Clearance

Due to the nature of our work, the successful candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain UK Security Check (SC) clearance. Eligibility for SC clearance is therefore an essential requirement of this role.

Why Join Steatite Antennas?

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a critical business function within a growing, technology‑led organisation operating at the forefront of RF engineering.

You’ll have the autonomy to influence strategy, drive meaningful improvements and build a resilient, high‑performing supply chain that directly supports customer success. Working alongside a highly skilled engineering and leadership team, you’ll play a key role in delivering complex, bespoke solutions used in some of the world’s most demanding defence, aerospace, communications and advanced technology applications.
