Committee Officer – Fixed term until 13/09/2027
City Chambers
Committee Services provides specialist professional and administrative support to ensure a transparent, efficient democratic decision‑making structure. The team delivers a high quality, accurate, prompt and politically neutral service to elected members, officers, partnership organisations and members of the public.
Responsibilities
- Clerking and managing the delivery of committees, joint boards and working groups that make up the Council’s political management system.
- Summarising complex information and providing impartial advice to members and senior officers.
- Interpreting and applying legislation and guidance, and taking an active role in the development of policy and process improvement.
- Supporting and supervising more junior staff members.
- Working closely with elected members and colleagues at all levels of the organisation.
Qualifications and Experience
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, both written and oral.
- Experience in summarising complex information.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Basic disclosure check clearance.
