Overview
A highly successful Cambridgeshire‑based main contractor with a profitable track record and a busy pipeline of work is expanding its Bid Management team. The role involves working on new tenders and managing projects through the PCSA stage to full contract award across sectors such as Education, Defence, Life Science, Healthcare and Commercial.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Independently manage a variety of tenders in Education, Healthcare, Defence and Life Science sectors.
- Coordinate and collaborate with technical disciplines to ensure a successful bid and manage the bid through the PCSA process.
- Bring together internal teams and external partners to develop bid strategies and create compelling responses.
- Ensure all quality, technical, and commercial requirements are met on time by managing the entire bid process from launch to submission.
- Share best practice and mentor junior Bid Managers.
Desirable Experience
- 5–7 years of UK experience with a main contractor, specifically in Bid Management or Pre‑Construction.
- Experience in construction professions with exposure to Pre‑Construction stages (e.g., Contracts Manager, Estimator, Planner, Design Manager, Project Manager or Commercial).
- Knowledge of the construction management process and techniques.
- Previous roles: Bid Manager, Bid Coordinator, Proposals Manager, Assistant Bid Manager, Project Manager, Pre‑Construction Project Manager, Framework Manager or Contracts Manager.
Qualifications & Skills
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Architecture or a comparable qualification.
- Collaborative approach to working.
- Previous involvement in PCSA or two‑stage procurement desirable.
