Software Test Manager – Hands on / Agile – 50-55K

Overview
Reporting directly into the Head of Development, this Test Manager (hands‑on) / Test Team Leader role oversees a small Agile testing team while remaining deeply involved in day‑to‑day testing activities. Responsibilities include line management (hiring, performance reviews, and team wellbeing), defining test strategies, maintaining quality standards and best practices, and advancing test automation.
Key Responsibilities
- 20/80 split favoring hands‑on testing
- Lead and manage the test team
- Introduce new testing tools for web and Windows applications
- Contribute to project design for new software developments
- Collaborate with developers and support staff across project teams
- Research, design, test, and document solutions
Primary Skills Required
- Previous line‑management experience of an Agile software testing team
- Proficiency in manual and automated testing of web & Windows applications
- Experience with Selenium, QTP, SoapUI, and Ranorex
- ISTQB/IPSOB certification (or equivalent)
Secondary Skills (Nice to have)
- Coding experience in C# or Java
