OVERVIEW

CAA Sports UK is seeking a full‑time Sports Business Affairs Executive to support Football Agents and Executives across its global football business. The ideal candidate is a qualified Solicitor (England and Wales) with 7‑10+ years’ PQE at a top law firm and/or in‑house legal department within a football organisation, with expertise in advising on a wide range of football‑related and commercial transactions, disputes and compliance matters across international jurisdictions.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide advice on international and domestic rules and regulations, on‑field matters, and legal and regulatory compliance across key football jurisdictions.
  • Advise on contentious or litigious matters in a range of forums related to football.
  • Prepare, review, negotiate, and advise on football transactional documents—including agency agreements, player contracts, representation agreements, sub‑agent agreements, image‑rights agreements, consulting agreements, services agreements, vendor agreements, intellectual‑property licence agreements, NDAs, and releases.
  • Support and increase organisational efficiency and achievement of business objectives while minimising legal risk.
  • Assist in implementing effective contract administration and document management processes.
  • Advise Agents and Executives on business strategy for transactions of varying complexity and provide real‑time and thoughtful advice on a variety of business and legal issues.
  • Assist in managing the broader football business affairs team, including supervision of other team members.
  • Monitor legal developments and update template documents to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and best practice in the football business.
  • Anticipate and identify potential legal problems for the Chief Legal Officer, senior members of the Sports Business Affairs team, and football agent leadership, and assist in developing strategies to avoid litigation and reduce risk.
  • Foster positive long‑term relationships with business colleagues and clients.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • In‑depth experience of the UK and international football industry, with a track record of advising on high‑level transactions and contentious matters.
  • Strong academic background: BA Hons in Law 2:1 or above and/or Graduate Diploma in Law Merit and above; LPC Merit and above.
  • Qualified Solicitor (England and Wales) with 7+ years’ PQE.
  • Experience at a top law firm and/or in‑house legal department in commercial law and related transactions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business requirements.
  • Ability to deliver high‑quality work product in a timely manner, mult‑tasking efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Self‑motivated, enthusiastic, and team‑oriented.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat.
