Job Description:

Forrest Recruitment Ltd are delighted to be partnered with a well‑established family run company who are a leader in their field. They have an impressive customer base and supply products to clients nationwide. Our client is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join their finance team at Head Office on a permanent basis.

Reporting to the Finance Director, your main duties in this stand‑alone role will include:

  • Managing a large, high‑value debtor ledger with 100’s of live accounts with varying payment terms
  • Chasing payments from business customers via telephone and email
  • Following the company collection procedures to minimise bad debt and providing regular updates on problem accounts/action required
  • Completing credit checks and setting up new customer accounts
  • Setting and monitoring customer credit limits
  • Accurately allocating payments onto the ledger in a timely manner
  • Producing credit control reports and assisting with monthly reconciliations
  • Managing the credit control email inbox and investigating/resolving invoice queries
  • Assessing current processes and suggesting improvements to make the credit control function more efficient

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday
  • 37.5 hours a week

Qualifications

To be successful you will have excellent communication skills, the ability to work effectively on your own initiative and an excellent level of computer literacy. Previous Credit Control experience is essential for the role, along with the ability to make decisions that are financially sound for the business whilst not damaging customer relationships.
