Apply for the Nursery Manager
Location: North East
Job Description:

£40,000 starting salary (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Monday to Friday / Opening Hours 7:30am to 5:30pm / Open 51 weeks per year

We are looking for an experienced and qualified Nursery Manager to join a nursery based in a residential area in Consett, County Durham.

This privately owned nursery can cater for up to 70 children each day across 3 rooms and currently employs a Deputy Manager, SENCO, Room Leaders, Nursery Practitioners, a Cook, and a Cleaner, to support you in your role!

The nursery is easily accessible by road and due to the location and limited public transport options, especially early morning, driving would be essential to be considered for this role – unless you live locally!

This is a senior leadership role where you’ll take overall responsibility for the nursery – managing your staff, resources, and the nursery environment, supporting children’s learning and wellbeing, building strong partnerships with families and the wider community, and ensuring all Ofsted and industry regulations are met. You’ll also play a key role in the business side of the nursery, supporting the owners with commercial and financial decisions and processes.

Benefits

  • Flexibility to work a 4-day or 5-day work week (as appropriate)
  • Discount on childcare fees
  • 28 days holiday, including bank holidays, plus additional time off during the Christmas closure
  • An opportunity to be trusted to run an established nursery with autonomy and support

Requirements

  • A full and relevant level 3 (or above) childcare qualification
  • To be able to work a flexible rota between 7:30am-5:30pm Monday to Friday
  • At least 1-2 years experience working in a similar role
  • Strong leadership and management experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Ofsted, safeguarding, and child protection policies and procedures
  • The ability to build strong, nurturing relationships with parents, children, and the wider community
  • A passion for childcare and child development and making a difference to the community
