Role Overview
The Amazon Web Services Professional Services (ProServe) team is seeking a skilled Delivery Consultant (DevOps) to join our team at Amazon Web Services (AWS). In this role, you’ll work closely with customers to design, implement, and manage AWS solutions that meet their technical requirements and business objectives. You’ll be a key player in driving customer success through their cloud journey, providing technical expertise and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
Location and Travel
This is a customer facing role. You will be required to travel to UK client locations (3-4 days on customer site per week) to deliver professional services to our customers.
Security Clearance

UK Nationality is required for this role.
Key Responsibilities
Solutions — You like working with customers to solve problems and identify opportunities. You’ll define and deliver on‑site technical engagements with partners and customers. This includes understanding customer security and compliance requirements, proposing and delivering packaged security offerings, and helping to build bespoke security solutions to fit customers’ needs.
Expertise — Cloud is the new norm and customers are migrating increasingly more sensitive workloads to AWS. You’re an expert in operating within an enterprise security program and developing a security model in the AWS cloud – identity and access management, logging and monitoring, infrastructure security, data protection, and incident response.
Delivery — As a consultant you will often go on‑site to customers to deliver projects proving the use of AWS services and security technology to support information security in the cloud. Sometimes you might help migrate existing applications; sometimes you might help them develop new applications using AWS cloud services.
Insights — You’ll work with AWS engineering, support and business teams to convey partner and customer feedback as input to AWS technology roadmaps.
Practice Development — Helping customers is our number one goal – but it’s not our only goal. With each engagement, you’re looking for ways to collect, capture, package and share your knowledge with new customers, partners, and AWS employees.
A Day in the Life
- Working Backwards from desired customer outcomes to design and deliver technical solutions
- Working on projects with autonomy and discretion
- Advising customers how to implement solutions
- Assisting customers with building Proof of Concepts and implementing AWS services
- Collaborating with Sales and AWS Service Teams
- Researching, validating, and beta testing new AWS Services
- Presenting workshops one to one, or one to many
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, or experience in a professional field or military
- Experience as technical specialist in design and architecture
- Experience in software development with object oriented language
- Experience in consulting, design and implementation of serverless distributed solutions
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in IT implementation
- Experience and technical expertise (design and implementation) in cloud computing technologies
- Experience leading the design, development and deployment of business software at scale or recent hands‑on technology infrastructure, network, compute, storage, and virtualization experience
- Experience in cloud based solution (AWS or equivalent), system, network and operating system
