Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivery of financial reporting services: prepare statutory accounts, financial reports, consolidations and disclosures under IFRS, UK GAAP (FRS102, FRS101) and CharitiesSORP.
  • Support the audit team with client queries and finalise statutory financial statements as part of the audit process.
  • Liaise with departments across the firm to ensure client requirements are met and service is of the highest standard.
  • Act as key client contact to identify judgment areas in financial statements and provide ad‑hoc reporting advice.
  • General and ad‑hoc support to Business Accounting and Advisory services.
  • Ensure work is completed profitably, on time, and meets professional and client satisfaction standards.

Team Leadership & Management

  • Assist the Team Leader in managing workflow, priorities and resource allocation.
  • Oversee the work of junior colleagues, reviewing financial statements, working papers, reconciliations and other deliverables for compliance.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support continuous improvement.
  • Assist recruitment, performance appraisal and onboarding of new team members.
  • Promote a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.

Training & Professional Development

  • Identify skills gaps and design development plans; mentor staff towards professional qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • Promote knowledge sharing, learning and proactive problem‑solving.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline reporting processes and enhance efficiency.

Essential Skills

  • Experience preparing full statutory accounts in a professional services environment.
  • Experience with multiple accounting frameworks – IFRS, UK GAAP, CharitySORP.
  • Experience preparing consolidations for large international groups and handling acquisitions, disposals and group reconstructions.
  • Strong client‑service orientation, with excellent relationship‑building and communication skills.
  • CCAB‑body membership (ICAEW, ACCA, ICAS, ICAI, AICPA).
  • Experience reviewing financial statements and working papers.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills; high attention to detail.

Desirable Skills

  • Audit experience.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring junior team members.
  • Experience with Caseware for accounts preparation.
