Position Overview
Location: Prestwick, Ayrshire. Hours: 37 hours per week (half‑day Friday). Type: Full‑time. Salary: £42,683.00. Grade: E. Travel Required: Occasional. Work Location: Site‑based (100%).
Responsibilities
- Accountable for the management and development of accurate “Bills of Materials” maintained within the Enterprise Resource Planning System.
- Ensure that valid Engineering Processes are deployed within the manufacturing process and effectively detailed within the process routing to satisfy requirements of the business MRPII disciplines.
- Manage the formal Engineering Changes communicated and agreed with the customer and valid agreed internal changes.
- Deploy the Continuous Improvement toolset to enable productivity and product quality improvements to be implemented in support of business and customer requirements both internally and within the supply chain.
- Accountable for the translation of Design Data (For example CAD/CATIA) and specifications into clear and concise work instructions for manufacturing products to customer and regulatory authority requirements.
- Support the Quality and Engineering Team Leader in discharging the people issues such as the PDR, training/development and the related WTMS responsibilities.
- Develop and implement production smoothing methods and Kanban systems.
- Support the MRB process by providing engineering instructions relating to rework, scrap and future prevention of non‑conforming products.
- Maintain, develop and compile detailed packages of work and Conditions of Supply for external manufacture with suppliers.
- Manage and control new technical packages introduced to the business both internally and externally, including Financial Control, vendor selection/approval, monitoring and the definition of controls and procedures to manage data produced.
Qualifications
- Qualified to HNC level or equivalent in a related engineering discipline.
- Relevant engineering experience within a Manufacturing Engineering environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Packages – Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access.
- Knowledge of engineering systems and the ability to deploy the Continuous Improvement Toolset – Seven Wastes, etc.
- Aware of drawings and systems as applied within major customers such as Boeing and Airbus.
