The Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA) is part of the Ministry of Defence responsible for the procurement, in‑service support, and disposal of the UK’s nuclear submarines. This role is pivotal to maintaining the continuous at‑sea nuclear deterrent and operates within a highly secure and technically complex environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Project Information Control Office (NCO) and manage a team of three staff.
- Act as the primary liaison with Nuclear Liaison Officers within the MOD and the Supply Chain.
- Hold ultimate responsibility for decisions on NNPPI access requests across the UK submarine enterprise.
- Ensure the integrity and security of sensitive nuclear information and process many access requests and appeals each week.
- Manage the Nuclear Propulsion Delivery Team Branch Security Officer (BSO) who handles read‑ons, read‑offs, and confidential atomic information.
- Represent the Nuclear Propulsion Delivery Team and senior management as a subject‑matter expert on related knowledge and expertise.
- Maintain high‑level relationships with internal and external stakeholders and communicate decisions clearly to diverse audiences.
- Co‑ordinate with the MOD security administration to ensure continuous compliance with security protocols.
Qualifications
- Relevant security certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISMP, ISO/IEC 27001 Information Security Management Foundation, or NIST Cyber Security Professional Foundation.
- Relevant work experience in information assurance or security‑related roles.
- Team‑lead experience and proven capability to manage complex request flows.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex decisions to non‑technical audiences.

Salary & Benefits
- Annual salary: £47,600.
- Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme with an employer contribution of £13,789 (28.97%).
