Cardiac Physiologist – Band 5 (Newly Qualified Or Experienced)

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Cardiac Physiologist to join our friendly and forward‑thinking Cardiology team. This opportunity is open to both newly qualified practitioners and those already working at Band 5 who are keen to develop their skills further.

Our busy Cardiology Department delivers a comprehensive range of invasive and non‑invasive investigations, offering you excellent exposure and variety. You’ll be actively supported through a personal development programme, with encouragement to broaden your competencies and progress your career.

In this role, you’ll contribute to the day‑to‑day clinical and operational delivery of both invasive and non‑invasive cardiology services, ensuring safe and high‑quality patient care. You’ll work closely within a multidisciplinary team, collaborating regularly with consultants, medical staff, clinical assistants, nurses, radiographers, and clerical colleagues.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Recording and interpreting ECGs and recognising cardiac rhythms.
  • Executing a broad range of procedures, including echocardiography, pacing, and catheter laboratory techniques.
  • Providing support to colleagues and facilitating the smooth running of a complex cardiology service.
  • Participating in a rotational shift schedule over six days, including Sunday working.
  • Being on‑call for the catheter laboratory rota and working occasionally in a community setting.

Key skills and qualifications:

  • Qualification as a Cardiac Physiologist (newly qualified or Band 5).
  • Proficiency in ECG recording, rhythm recognition, echocardiography, pacing, and catheter laboratory procedures.
  • Strong team‑working ability, adaptability, and patient‑focused approach.
