An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Administrative Assistant – Reception/Admin Support based at the Northern Centre for Cancer Care – North Cumbria, Carlisle.

Location: Hospital site Carlisle.

Working on one of the two Receptions with NCCC-NC.

Hours: 37 hours 30 minutes per week.

Responsibilities

• Deal with telephone enquiries promptly.
• Communicate with patients regarding appointments and transport bookings.
• Make Oncology Review Appointments for patients exiting Oncology Outpatients.
• Issue concessionary parking permits.
• Liaise with NCIC estates on issuing contractors’ passes and keys and parking permits.
• Support the wider Oncology team within a team of administrative staff, providing efficient administrative service.
• Upload records into the Patient Record system – E-record.
• Archive documents.

Qualifications & Education

• Minimum of 4 GCSEs, Level A – C, including English Language, or equivalent qualification or relevant experience.
• OCR I or NVQ Level 2 Business & Administration or equivalent qualification / experience.

Knowledge & Experience

• Understanding of medical terminology.

Skills & Abilities

• Good IT skills, including office software packages.
• Good keyboard skills and text processing ability.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal, and telephone skills.
• Ability to work without direct supervision.
• Ability to be flexible and work as part of a team.
• Understanding of confidentiality issues.
