Family Assessment Social Worker | Horncastle
Location: Horncastle, East Lindsey
Team: FAST (Family Assessment & Support Team)
Working Pattern: Hybrid (with on‑site duty week every 3 weeks)
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Social Worker to join a FAST team in Horncastle. This frontline role involves delivering high‑quality statutory social work to children and families across the following areas:
- Child in Need
- Child Protection
- Children in Care
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct Section 47 enquiries and lead safeguarding investigations
- Complete comprehensive child and family assessments
- Apply evidence‑based frameworks such as Signs of Safety to assess and manage risk
- Lead and contribute to multi‑agency planning and decision‑making
- Produce high‑quality, analytical reports, including those for court
- Maintain timely, accurate, and defensible case recordings
- Build strong, purposeful relationships with children and families through relationship‑based practice
- Demonstrate sound decision‑making in complex and high‑risk situations
About You
To be successful you will have:
- Proven experience within statutory children’s social work
- Strong working knowledge of Child Protection, CIN, and CIC processes
- Confidence managing complex caseloads and safeguarding concerns
- Experience in court work and report writing
- Ability to work collaboratively across agencies
- A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children and families
Working Arrangements
- Duty week: Full on‑site presence required (5 days) on a 1‑in‑3 week rota
- Non‑duty weeks: Flexible hybrid working available
