Workshop Assembler (Electro/Mechanical)

London Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: £30,000 basic + bonus Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (1-hour lunch)

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing organisation within the equipment manufacturing sector. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on electro/mechanical assembler to join a high-performing workshop team, where quality, precision, and craftsmanship are key.

You’ll play a vital role in assembling and testing a range of specialist equipment, contributing to the delivery of high-quality products across the UK market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble a variety of electro/mechanical equipment from start to finish
  • Interpret mechanical and electrical drawings accurately (training provided where needed)
  • Safely use hand and power tools to complete builds
  • Test and adjust assembled products to ensure full functionality
  • Complete production and quality documentation accurately
  • Maintain high standards of health & safety and workshop organisation
  • Report faults or discrepancies to the Workshop Supervisor
  • Work collaboratively to meet production targets and deadlines
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiativesParticipate in ongoing training to develop technical skills

About You

Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams
  • Strong attention to detail and good manual dexterity
  • Well‑organised with the ability to follow structured processes
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to workload
  • Familiar with testing and inspection processes
  • Good record‑keeping skills
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual tasks

Experience

  • Previous experience in mechanical and/or electrical assembly
  • Confident using hand tools and power tools
  • Experience using basic electrical testing equipment (e.g. multimeters)

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Hands‑on assembly experience (mechanical and/or electrical)
  • Ability to understand technical drawings
  • Competency with tools and basic testing equipment

Desirable:

  • Relevant qualification or apprenticeship in engineering
  • Background in manufacturing/production environments
  • Full UK driving licence
