- Support pupils with SEMH needs through structure, consistency, and relationship‑building
- Adapt curriculum content to meet a range of learning and emotional needs
- Implement strategies to support behaviour, wellbeing, and emotional regulation
- Work collaboratively with support staff, SENCO, and external professionals
- Monitor progress and contribute to Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and reviews
- Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have

- Experience working with SEN and/or SEMH pupils (secondary or specialist settings desirable)
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- A relational, patient, and trauma‑informed approach
- Ability to differentiate and personalise learning effectively
- A commitment to inclusive education and improving outcomes for vulnerable learners
What the School Offers
- A supportive and collaborative SEN team
- Small class sizes with high staff‑to‑student ratios
- Ongoing professional development in SEND and SEMH practice
- A well‑resourced specialist provision
- Opportunities to make a real and lasting impact on young people’s lives
Essential Criteria
- Able to work 5 days a week (term time only), Monday‑Friday 8:30‑15:30
- Right to work in the UK – we CANNOT accept sponsorship or a skilled worker visa
- Minimum two recent references, covering the last two years
- Up‑to‑date DBS/police check, or be willing to obtain one
- Please note, if you do not have a Non‑Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, we will need to help you process a new one at a cost of £62.70. This will be refunded after 20 days of work with us.
We welcome and encourage job applications from people of all backgrounds. We particularly welcome applications from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) candidates as they are currently under‑represented at this level.
