Experienced Social Worker – Children’s Family Support and Safeguarding
Salary: £46,133 – £57,194 (includes market supplement)

Overview
The Family Support and Safeguarding (FSS) Service is a newly re‑imagined service that brings together Assessment and Intervention social work. It is a family‑led, relational service based on our Circles of Support model. Social workers will work across sixteen teams, supporting families from first contact through long‑term intervention and, where necessary, hand over court‑related proceedings to the Children in Care service.
Responsibilities
• Casehold families within the FSS framework; maintain ongoing engagement and progress monitoring.• Be on duty 1 week in 16, with flexible scheduling to support both on‑site visits and remote working.• Work collaboratively with partner services (e.g., CP, CiN) and specialist teams that support families affected by disability or SEND.• Ensure children’s welfare and safety remain central to all practice decisions.
Qualifications
- Qualified and SWE registered social worker with experience beyond ASYE year.
- Experience in assessment or long‑term work with children and families, or both.
- Conscientious, considerate and empathetic approach, committed to relational working and children’s welfare.
- Passion for tackling disproportionality and building a fairer community.
- Close to the local authority’s national and local safeguarding duty.
