Celtic Routes – Make the Journey Matter

Celtic Routes designs unforgettable self-drive journeys across Scotland, Ireland, England and Wales. Our clients discover the less travelled roads in our iconic Land Rovers with bespoke itineraries full of hidden gems, local secrets, and ‘wow’ moments.

We are looking for a Sales and Reservation Specialist to join our small but growing team – an exciting opportunity for someone inspired by travel and passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences and service.

This is a key position within the business. As our Sales & Reservations – Destination Specialist, you’ll be the first – and typically main – point of contact for our clients during the full sales cycle.

You’ll craft, curate and deliver exceptional, tailor-made travel experiences, turning inspiration into reality while ensuring every detail is thoughtfully executed. You will deliver our mission to make the journey matter.

What we are looking for

We’d love to hear from you if:

  • You have the drive to succeed in sales and consistently exceed goals.
  • You love talking about travel and experiences that extend beyond a standard holiday.
  • You are passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and going the extra mile.
  • You are excited to be part of a small, ambitious, family-run business.
  • You live close enough to our base in North Yorkshire to meet up on a regular basis (within a 2hr drive).

What You’ll Bring

  • Drive! – Proven sales ability and motivation to achieve and exceed targets.
  • Confidence – Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and influence clients
  • Passion – A genuine passion for travel and creating memorable experiences.
  • Organisation – Excellent time management and the ability to manage multiple enquiries simultaneously.
  • Resilience – A positive, motivated mindset, even during challenging periods.
  • Flexibility and a ‘can do’ attitude – as a small team, we often have to dive in and help our colleagues in other areas of the business, we take a collaborative, hands-on approach.
  • Initiative – strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet.- for both clients and the business. We are a young business, we are developing our processes and systems – we need our team to look for solutions and share best practices and evolve our working practices. It is both challenging and rewarding at the same time.
  • Tech confidence: Comfortable using CRM systems and tools such as Google Workspace.
  • Experience: Background in travel, tour operations, sales or customer service (essential).
  • *Mobility: Willingness to travel for both destination knowledge and regular visits to our North Yorkshire base.
  • Driving licence: Full, clean licence required.

You’ll also bring a healthy, supportive competitiveness – striving for your own success while supporting your colleagues to achieve theirs.

*Although we work remotely, team days and regular get-togethers are essential for creating a collaborative culture and of course an excuse to have a social! Living within a couple of hours of our base in North Yorkshire will be a distinct advantage

What You’ll Do

  • Manage incoming sales enquiries via phone, video calls and email.
  • Build strong relationships with clients to understand their ideal travel experience.
  • Design and price tailor-made itineraries and refine them with the client until they are perfect.
  • Offer expert guidance, introducing clients to unique destinations and experiences they may not have considered.
  • Support clients from the initial enquiry to after they return home, ensuring their trip is seamless.
  • Build and maintain brilliant relationships with clients, hotels, guides and local partners.
  • Manage your sales pipeline and customer data using CRM systems. Maintain all customer records and update reservation databases and systems where relevant.
  • Travel occasionally to experience our tours first-hand and strengthen supplier ties.
  • Participate in the Out of Hours Support Team during the operational season (March–November), including an on-call rota to provide emergency assistance to clients travelling. This includes a small number of weekends, bank holidays, and occasional late shifts (typically 11:30am–8:00pm), shared across the team.
  •  Occasional weekend or evening work to support peak sales periods (Jan-Feb).
