Senior Digital Support Technician

Average annual salary: £28,000–£33,000 (pay award pending). Working hours: 37 hours a week, full-time, all year. Start date: ASAP. Contract: Permanent. Location: Hybrid – Head Office as well as regular travel across Staffordshire schools. Full‑UK driving licence and access to a vehicle required.

Responsibilities

  • Act as senior technical escalation point for complex hardware, software and network issues beyond school‑based IT technicians.
  • Support a portfolio of Staffordshire schools, providing technical guidance and cultivating relationships with school leaders and staff.
  • Conduct IT compliance surveys, digital assurance reviews and technical audits to keep systems secure and compliant.
  • Mentor and support frontline IT technicians, sharing knowledge and building technical capability across the team.
  • Assist in planning, implementing and maintaining network infrastructure, end‑user devices and digital services across multiple sites.
  • Drive continuous improvement of ICT systems to ensure services remain reliable, secure and aligned with school needs.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a senior IT support or infrastructure role, ideally in an educational environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Microsoft technologies, hardware, software, networking and cloud‑based systems.
  • Excellent communication skills – able to explain technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Evidence of mentoring or supporting other technicians.
  • Passion for technology and a collaborative approach.
