About the Role
We are recruiting an Occupational Therapy Assistant to support recovery and rehabilitation activities at Cygnet Hospital Ealing, a residential site within the Mental Health Adults (Tier 4 Personality Disorder) service line. The role focuses primarily on the female personality disorder service, with opportunities for rotation and crossover as you progress.
Responsibilities
- Deliver planned activities for patients under the direction of the ward Occupational Therapist (OT) and Multidisciplinary Team.
- Assist the OT in day‑to‑day duties and the running of the department.
- Undertake assessment and intervention programmes with clients as delegated by a senior occupational therapist, supported by appropriate experience and knowledge.
- Contribute ideas, create and facilitate events and activities safely, and support people to structure their time through meaningful activity.
- Have involvement in the delivery of one‑to‑one and group interventions.
- Implement individual care plans during activity sessions, taking into account specific interests and opportunities to promote choice and independence.
Training & Development
We provide a robust induction process that allows you to shadow staff, discuss your learning and receive expert support to develop into your role. A preceptorship programme lasts 12 months to support and consolidate core skills, and includes regular, virtual Q&A sessions with the clinical lead OT and networking with other OT Assistants and Activity Coordinators in your service line.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Successful completion of an enhanced DBS and reference check.
- Will be subject to successful clearance before an offer of employment.
