Domestic Gas Service & Breakdown EngineernnLocation: SO PostcodesnSalary: £48,106 per annumnStart Date: 22/06/2026nnAbout the RolennR9 Recruitment is currently seeking experienced Domestic Gas Service & Breakdown Engineers to join the field force of one of the largest European appliance manufacturers. This is a home-based role covering the SO Postcodes, offering stability, structure, and excellent long-term benefits.nnYou will be responsible for delivering high-quality service and breakdown support across a wide domestic gas product range, working to manufacturer standards while maintaining excellent customer satisfaction. This role suits engineers who are confident working independently, managing a busy daily schedule, and operating within performance-based targets.nnWorking PatternnnEngineers are home-based, travelling directly to customer appointmentsnnAll daily work is issued electronically via company laptopnnEngineers are required to contact customers each morning to confirm ETAnn * There are no fixed start or finish times, however engineers must be:nn * At their first appointment by 9:00am, ornn * 12:30pm for later-start routesnn * All jobs issued must be completed on the same daynnWorkload & Team StructurennAverage workload of 7–8 jobs per day, dependent on location and mileagennJobs are allocated to ensure efficient routing and minimal travel timennSpares & LogisticsnnOvernight spares replenishment, delivered directly to the engineer’s vehiclenn * Engineers must have:nn * Suitable parking at homenn * This ensures minimal downtime and maximum first-time fix ratesnnKey ResponsibilitiesnnDiagnose faults and repair domestic gas appliancesnnCarry out planned servicing and reactive breakdown worknnWork to manufacturer specifications and safety standardsnnAchieve daily productivity, efficiency, and quality targetsnnAccurately complete job reports and documentation via laptop and mobile systemsnnProvide a professional, courteous service to all customersnnEssential RequirementsnnProven experience in domestic gas service and breakdown worknn * Current ACS Gas Qualifications, including:nn * CCN1nn * CENWATnn * HTR1nn * CKR1nn * Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capabilitynn * Full UK driving licencennSalary & Benefits PackagennCompetitive basic salary of £48,106nn25 days annual leave + 8 bank holidaysnnEfficiency bonusnnProductivity bonusnnRest day working and overtime availablenn70% subsidised private health insurancennLife insurance – 3 × basic salary (after 6 months’ service)nnCompany pension contribution of 5%nnCompany vehicle with private use and fuel includednnCombustion analyser and full tool set providednnCompany iPhone and laptop supplied for job management and data transfernnWhy Apply?nnThis is a rare opportunity to work directly on behalf of a leading European manufacturer, with structured routes, strong support, premium tooling, and a benefits package designed to reward performance and reliability
