Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the psychological needs of people using our services.
- Mentor, supervise and teach qualified and unqualified staff, including students.
- Promote a psychological perspective both within teams and to other colleagues.
- Collaborate with team managers and clinical leads to develop and deliver effective services.
- Lead on complex and challenging cases, developing expertise within the specialist area.
- Participate in the recruitment and selection of staff.
- Complete an appropriate clinical supervision course within six months of commencement to enable supervision of trainees.
- Contribute to clinical practice, service development and project work.
- Supervise assistant psychologists.
Qualifications
- Experience working with people across the lifespan with a range of mental health issues and cognitive profiles.
- Experience across a range of psychological models including systemic, behavioural and individual therapeutic.
- Demonstrable post-registration clinical experience and competencies, and an interest in working with people with complex emotional needs.
- Evidence of leadership experience.
- Training and/or experience of trauma interventions.
- Training and/or experience of family interventions.
- Experience of risk formulation and management.
- Prior training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is desirable.
- Completion of the NHSE-funded PG Diploma training in DBT will be supported.
