Job Summary
Our client has an opportunity for a Director of Maintenance to join them on a permanent basis. You will be the nominated CAA Form 4 Post Holder responsible for managing and controlling all production and operational activities within the Part-145 approved wheel and brake maintenance organisation (MRO).

What You’ll Be Doing
Regulatory & Compliance Responsibilities
- Act as the nominated Part-145 Form 4 Post Holder for production/maintenance activities.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with: CAA/ EASA Part-145 requirements, Approved Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE) and OEM and approved maintenance data.
- Maintain effective liaison with regulatory authorities when required.
- Ensure corrective actions arising from audits are implemented and effective.
- Lead all maintenance and overhaul operations for wheel and brake components.
- Ensure on-time delivery performance aligned with customer commitments.
- Develop operational strategies to improve throughput, turnaround time, and productivity.
- Monitor and improve shop capacity, labour utilisation, and workflow.
- Drive operational excellence and lean process improvements.
- Resolve production bottlenecks and capacity constraints.
Operational Management
- Direct and control daily workshop operations covering safe, efficient workflow and capacity planning.
- Manage production scheduling to meet customer turnaround time targets.
- Ensure availability of manpower, tooling, equipment, and materials.
- Drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor operational KPIs and performance targets.
Safety & Quality Assurance
- Promote and maintain a strong safety and compliance culture.
- Ensure all maintenance activities meet safety and quality standards.
- Support occurrence reporting and corrective/preventive actions.
- Coordinate closely with Quality and Safety departments.
Personnel Management
- Ensure personnel are suitably qualified, trained, and competent.
- Support recruitment and competency development of workshop staff.
- Maintain staffing levels appropriate to workload.
- Promote high professional standards and discipline within operations.
- Encourage teamwork and performance accountability.
Requirements
- Demonstrated management experience in an aviation Part-145 maintenance environment.
- Extensive experience in aircraft component maintenance operations, preferably wheel and brake MRO.
- Thorough knowledge of Part-145 regulations, MOE structure and compliance requirements, maintenance and certification processes.
- Proven leadership and operational management experience.
- Strong understanding of quality, safety, and SMS principles.
- Experience dealing with aviation regulatory authorities and audits.
- Engineering or technical qualification in aviation or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
