Clinical Coding Team Leader

Responsibilities

• The collection and interpretation of descriptions of patient diagnoses and procedural events and the classification of these descriptions using the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10) and the Office of Population Census and Surveys Classification (OPCS 4) for all inpatient care across the Trust.
• Continued improvement of anatomy and physiology skills and medical terminology to enhance knowledge of the National clinical coding rules and conventions.
• Work with the Clinical Coding Manager/Deputy Clinical Coding Manager to implement day-to-day organisation of the clinical coding department workload to ensure targets are met and a high quality service is delivered.
