Equans Data Centers is seeking a Quality Engineer based in Motherwell, Scotland to support our growing Data Centre business. The role will ensure that all projects meet industry standards, regulatory requirements and customer expectations. The successful candidate will be responsible for quality control, compliance and continuous improvement throughout the construction process and ensure high quality standards within health and safety guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and maintain project‑specific Quality Assurance and Quality Control plans.
- Conduct site inspections of Mechanical, Electrical and Architectural installations to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes and safety regulations.
- Ensure that quality management is given the highest priority in delivery to achieve right‑first‑time.
- Communicate with delivery teams to ensure full understanding of quality assurance requirements.
- Investigate and resolve quality‑related issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate quality documentation and reports.
- Provide training and guidance on quality control procedures.
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards, safety regulations and customer requirements.
- Be an expert and provide guidance and direction to ensure operational excellence.
- Review quality records, inspection reports and testing documentation.
- Participate in audits, inspections and quality reviews.
- Support standardised inspection and testing procedures to ensure equipment and systems are installed correctly and operate as intended.

Qualifications
- Experience working with a main contractor or large subcontractor.
- Proven experience in quality control/assurance in the construction industry.
- Knowledge of construction materials, methods and quality standards.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
- Self‑motivated with proven organisational ability and drive to meet deadlines.
- Customer focused with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
- Attention to Health and Safety matters.
- Experience in the data centres sector is desirable.
- Degree or equivalent in Construction Management or similar is desirable.
