Senior Process Engineer – Vacuum Coating & Process Scale-Up

Exciting opportunity to work with by an innovative advanced materials technology company to appoint a Senior Process Engineer into a growing engineering team. This is a rare opportunity to play a key role in scaling a genuinely disruptive and sustainability-focused technology from development through to commercial manufacture
We’re looking for a hands‑on engineer with experience of vacuum coating processes, ideally within a manufacturing, pilot plant, process development or scale‑up environment.
Key Responsibility
- Develop, optimise and scale vacuum coating and film manufacturing processes.
- Support the transition of technology from R&D into commercial production.
- Drive process improvements, troubleshooting and performance optimisation.
- Work across engineering, science and manufacturing teams to solve complex technical challenges.
- Contribute to the successful scale-up of an emerging technology in a fast‑paced environment.

- Thin film technologies
- Coating and converting processes
- Roll‑to‑roll manufacturing
- Process scale‑up and technology transfer
- Advanced materials or related manufacturing environments
This role forms part of a small, highly collaborative engineering team and would suit someone who enjoys being close to the technology, working across disciplines, and making a visible impact on product and process development.
