The role ensures confidence in SHE data integrity, enables data‑driven decision making, and significantly reduces manual effort through smart digital solutions and automation. Effective visualization and easier access to data will allow the business to understand SHE performance better and focus on the right SHE priorities.

- Ensure compliance with Global SHE standards related to SHE reporting and notification (S6005, S6007, S6006 and future standards).
- Act as the site focal point and expert in SHE reporting systems – currently SPR, EPR (soon EARTH), SHE Net – ensuring data reported in all applications is consistent.
- Collect, review and consolidate all data inputs to ensure SHE data is reported on time and in full for weekly leadership scorecards, monthly business performance reports, VPA targets/metrics, bi‑annual ESRS reports, quarterly waste data returns, and annual packaging waste data.

- Submit notifications of high potential/serious/fatal incidents to stakeholders using the SHE Incident Hub app as per S6006.
- Lead quarterly and annual data validation cycles.
- Use data to track and report on progress against targets on KPIs (TRFR, SEWO close‑out, SSMA completion rate, %SBO discussed, energy/water/waste per tonne).
- Serve as focal point during data assurance audits and provide clarification on data‑related enquiries.
- Digitisation & Automation of SHE Processes
- Lead the digitisation of SHE reporting processes, replacing manual, spreadsheet‑based activities with automated, scalable solutions.
- Design and maintain automated data flows, dashboards and alerts (e.g. Power BI, PowerApps, reporting hubs, notification tools) to reduce administrative burden.
- Use AI tools to reduce the need for manual validation of data reports and allow intelligent identification of anomalies and discrepancies.
- Identify opportunities to streamline recurring SHE activities such as incident notifications, KPI tracking, overdue action monitoring, and assurance reporting.
- Partner with Digital, IT and SHE capability teams to implement new tools and support enhancements of existing reporting platforms.
- Advise on improvements to the site Integrated Management System to support robust reporting.
- Analytics & Insights
- Manage the site’s performance on globally tracked Leading Indicators and implement actions to improve the site’s “Safety Score”.
- Analyse qualitative and quantitative inputs from site safety surveys, and highlight strengths and improvement areas.
- Proactively analyse trends in SHE KPIs (SBO, DCA findings, crew and shift‑based trends) and data quality signals for risk management.
- Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and performance reports for Safety and Environment, tailored to different audiences.
- Support audits, assurance activities, and system improvements with clear evidence, reports, and documentation.
- Deliver training and guidance to the site SHE team on SHE reporting tools, dashboards, and methodology changes.
- Monitor emerging digital and analytical capabilities and assess their application within SHE.
