Overview

Credit Ratings is an integral part of the Global Ratings Services team, comprising a diverse group of analysts spread across key financial hubs worldwide. The Structured Finance and Alternate Investment Fund practice evaluates the credit risk of securitized products and fund structures by analysing underlying asset performance, structural protections, cash‑flow mechanics, and downside stress scenarios. Analysts produce opinions that help issuers and investors compare complex instruments, bringing market‑relevant perspectives on performance trends, issuance conditions and the role of AI in origination and securitization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day‑to‑day guidance and coaching to Research Assistants and Rating Analysts, building capability in credit, data discipline, and tooling while reinforcing values‑led behaviours.
  • Drive consistency and scalability by codifying standard work and promoting disciplined adoption to strengthen trusted, repeatable insights.
  • Strengthen AI‑enabled productivity by creating reusable assets and proposing lightweight automations that free capacity for human analysis and relationship work.
  • Foster continuous improvement by proposing enhancements that remove manual steps without compromising governance or judgment.
  • Partner with senior team members and Data/Engineering to identify and scale AI/automation use cases with governance‑by‑design, controls, and adoption support.
  • Lead end‑to‑end execution for assigned credits, ensuring high‑quality analysis and timely delivery across priorities with clear accountability.
  • Own surveillance and updates for the assigned portfolio, synthesising performance, market signals, and peer context into decision‑useful insights and clear implications for risk.
  • Support LLM tools and automation being embedded to accelerate workflows, followed by structured validation and refinement using analytical judgment to maintain trusted conclusions.
  • Operate alongside AI agents in recurring workflows.
  • Prepare and review inputs, reconcile metrics, document assumptions and changes to ensure adherence to methodologies and standard operating procedures.
  • Prepare and review key outputs, ensuring clarity and alignment to methodology, sector frameworks and evidentiary standards.
  • Support maintenance and review of models to ensure robustness and repeatability and clear linkage to risk views.
  • Engage with external parties alongside senior team members.
  • Craft client and executive‑ready stories that translate complex data, analysis, and research into a clear narrative, advising on issues within clear parameters.
  • Build trusted stakeholder relationships through emotionally intelligent, collaborative and adaptable delivery.
  • Ensure adherence to methodology, confidentiality and data governance; raise issues early with options and recommendations to protect integrity and trust.
  • Embed responsible, governed AI use: approved tools and data only, protect confidential information.
  • Drive controlled automation and agentic workflows by contributing to design requirements, controls, supporting testing, rollout and training.
  • Assist in defining guardrails for automation, clarifying what can be automated versus must remain human‑led.

Qualifications

  • Specialized experience in ABS, RMBS, and corporate securitisations with demonstrated ability to influence and advise junior colleagues.
  • Strong critical thinking abilities and exceptional analytical skills, with the capacity to make decisions where parameters are clear and advise on complex issues.
  • Ownership and execution maturity across multiple credits, delivering high quality with limited oversight and exhibiting values‑led behaviour.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship management; able to influence through credibility and constructive challenge.
  • Coaching capability that improves team consistency through shared standards and tools.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • AI fluency with judgment.
  • Strong credit, financial and risk analysis linking drivers to forward‑looking views and risk appetite.
  • Practical experience embedding AI, LLMs and agents into workflows to improve productivity and insight.
  • Strong analytical tool capability; willingness to learn data and automation tools to facilitate AI‑enabled workflows.
  • Strong synthesis into concise narratives for senior stakeholders, demonstrating transparent evidence and effective written and verbal communication.
  • High standards for quality, traceability and governance; operates effectively in controlled environments.
  • Sound judgment on responsible AI use and ability to contribute to scalable automation and agent workflows.

Additional Information

  • Typical tenure: three to five years of relevant experience.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required. A master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA) is highly valued.
  • Employees are required to work from the office a minimum of two days per week.
