The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Main Inspection department as a CMM Inspector on the night shift.

This role offers the chance to work with cutting‑edge metrology equipment in a fast‑paced, high‑performance manufacturing environment.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of precision‑engineered components, using a range of advanced inspection technologies while contributing to continuous improvement and manufacturing excellence. You’ll be someone that enjoys solving technical challenges and takes pride in delivering exceptional quality.

The night shift involves working the hours of 20:00-06:30 (Monday-Thursday).

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Inspection Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Inspecting components using a variety of metrology equipment to verify dimensional, mechanical, and visual characteristics against engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Programming and operating CMMs using PC‑DMIS, both online and offline.

  • Using advanced metrology equipment, including portable measuring arms, optical scanning systems, and other precision inspection technologies.

  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance inspection methods, efficiency, and process capability.

  • Producing accurate inspection records and non‑conformance reports where required.

  • Working safely and effectively in accordance with Health & Safety procedures.

  • Collaborating closely with our Quality and Engineering teams to ensure the highest standards of product quality.

About You

Essential Skills and Experience

  • A solid background in mechanical inspection using a variety of precision measuring equipment and hand tools.

  • A good understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).

  • Experience programming and operating PC‑DMIS CMMs.

  • Experience using Absolute Arm and Klingenberg machine would be advantageous.

  • The ability to confidently interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

  • A sound understanding of quality systems and inspection processes.

  • Sharp attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem‑solving.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work independently.

  • Robust computer skills.

  • Familiarity with SAP is desirable, but comprehensive training will be provided if necessary.
