Salary: £69,000 – 109,000 per year

Requirements

• We require proficiency in 3+ programming languages, such as C++, TypeScript, Python, Java, or Rust.
• We require strong fundamentals in algorithms, systems design, and data structures.
• We require experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.
• We need the ability to learn new technologies quickly and solve complex problems independently.
• We need comfort working in a fast-paced, early-stage environment.

Responsibilities

• We build features for a next-generation database virtualisation platform.
• We tackle performance, scalability, and system interoperability challenges.
• We write clean, well-tested code in multiple languages.
• We work cross-functionally with product, DevOps, and architecture teams.
• We help shape the technical roadmap and scale our engineering processes.

We are an early-stage deep-tech startup targeting a share of the £60B SQL database market. We have recently completed a £1.2M pre-seed round and are in the process of raising a further £7M. We already have live enterprise customers and are solving high-stakes, real-world problems with a technically ambitious platform. This is a hybrid role based in Southampton, with one day in the office every fortnight.
