Job Description:

Responsibilities

  • Partnering with Procurement and R&D to deliver holistic product cost optimisation across all phases of the product lifecycle.
  • Leading and contributing to Cost & Value Engineering activities, including cost analysis, benchmarking, target costing and should‑cost modelling.
  • Supporting product design through early supplier involvement, cost estimation and technology‑specific recommendations.
  • Providing fact‑based cost and value analysis to support supplier negotiations.
  • Developing, improving and standardising cost and value optimisation methods.
  • Contributing to procurement transformation initiatives, using digital tools and data to enable smarter, more efficient ways of working.
  • Building open, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders across a global network.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a comparable technical discipline.
  • Experience in engineering and/or procurement, with exposure to supplier collaboration and cost optimisation.
  • Strong understanding of electro‑mechanical components and manufacturing technologies (e.g., sheet metal, machining, casting, mechanical assemblies, cooling systems or composites).
  • Proven capability in cost structure analysis, cost drivers and target costing.
  • Familiarity with cost calculation and DFMA tools (such as TcPCM / PerfectProCalc or similar).
  • A structured, analytical approach combined with curiosity and openness to learning new technologies.
  • Clear communication, effective presentation skills and the ability to influence through collaboration.
  • A proactive, accountable mindset with confidence to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel internationally on an occasional basis (typically 20%).
