Role: Senior Lawyer – Child Protection

Contract Length: 12 weeks+

Location: Hybrid/Peterborough (Attendance at court is required; office attendance is flexible, ideal is 2–3 times per week)

IR35: Inside

Pay Rate to Intermediary: £55-£60 per hour

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SENIOR LAWYER

• Manage a Child Protection caseload from legal planning meetings through to final hearings
• Conduct legal planning meetings and Public Law Outline meetings
• Handle Child Protection proceedings
• Attend and undertake advocacy work
• Manage urgent Interim Care Order (ICO) hearings
• Prepare and conduct own advocacy
• Deal with deprivation of liberty matters
• Handle discharge of care order applications
• Manage reduction and discharge applications
• Provide support with duty solicitor/lawyer rota slots
• Undertake general Child Protection casework
