This role is based at the Tacchi Morris Arts Centre, part of Monkton Wood Academy. Some weekend work will be required as part of this role.

We’re looking for one or more hardworking, skilled Duty Theatre Technicians to join our team. Successful candidates will have technical skills and experience, a can‑do attitude and be a good problem‑solver. Strong people and teamwork skills are essential, as well as a hands‑on approach and passion for all types of live theatre events.
Working alongside the Technical Manager, you will play a key role in delivering high‑quality productions by supporting visiting production companies, hirers, community groups, and academy staff and students. You will also contribute to a safe, professional and creative environment, ensuring all technical and health & safety standards are met at all times.

About you
- Experience working in a theatre or performing arts venue in a technical role
- Strong knowledge of stage lighting and sound systems
- Experience operating technical equipment across a range of productions (e.g. theatre, music, dance, comedy)
- Good IT and AV skills
- Knowledge of safe working practices within a theatre or similar environment
- Excellent organisation, communication and problem‑solving skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- A proactive and collaborative approach to working with others
