Description
We are hiring for our client, an established and growing building controls specialist, to recruit an experienced Project Engineer (BMS).
Based at the company’s premises in Mallusk, the successful Project Engineer will support the delivery of Building Management System projects across the UK and Ireland. The position will involve overseeing projects from initial sales handover through design, panel build, installation, commissioning and final account agreement. Reporting to the Projects Director, this is an excellent opportunity for a commercially aware and technically capable Project Engineer to join a successful business experiencing continued growth.

The Role
As Project Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:
Managing projects from sales handover through CAD design, panel build, electrical installation, commissioning and final account
Overseeing several varied and live projects simultaneously
Liaising with internal panel design, panel build and commissioning teams
Ensuring projects are delivered successfully and within agreed timescales
Maintaining strong relationships with M&E contractors, clients and end users
Monitoring project costs, commercial risk and monthly invoicing
Identifying variations and supporting value-engineering exercises
Resolving technical and commercial issues throughout the project lifecycle
Supporting the successful completion and handover of projects
Travelling to customer and project sites throughout the UK and Ireland
The Person
The successful Project Engineer should demonstrate:
Previous experience in a Project Engineer, Project Manager or similar project delivery position
Experience within Building Management Systems, building controls, electrical engineering or a related technical sector
Strong knowledge of the BMS industry and its project delivery processes
Experience working with M&E contractors and end users
Technical experience with Trend, Tridium, Siemens or another recognised BMS platform
The ability to discuss and resolve complex technical issues with customers
Strong commercial awareness, including experience managing project costs, variations and commercial risk
The ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
Excellent communication, organisation and relationship-management skills
A calm and solutions-focused approach when working under pressure
A full clean driving licence
