Children’s and Youth Support Worker

£12.75 – £13.65 per hour

Full time (44.25 hours a week / term time only)

Starting September

A highly regarded care organisation and specialist school local to you is looking for an empathetic, passionate and kind Youth Support worker to support children or young people with complex SEN needs on a full‑time permanent basis both in the residential housing on school site. The setting is based on acres of land, offers incredible resources including a on site gym and is both a school and a residential setting. The setting supports children and young adults from 6-21 years.

The school and setting are commended by parents, pupils, staff and OFSTED and have recently been graded GOOD with elements of outstanding.

Shifts

Applicants must be available for shifts including days and evenings. Own transport is advisable.

Option 1: Monday – Friday: 06.45 – 13.30 and 15.45 – 22.00 (you must be able to do a mixture of shifts)

Option 2: Monday – Sunday: 06.45 – 13.30, 15.45 – 22.00, 12.00 – 22.00 and 06.45 – 16.00 (you must be able to do a mixture of shifts)

Requirements

  • Flexible, resilient and have a positive approach to supporting children or young adults with SEN
  • At least 6 months of care or education experience (desirable)
  • Own transport due to locality of the school
  • Eligibility to work in the UK

Responsibilities

  • Support children and young adults with SEN needs
  • Assist young people with daily living skills and encourage independence
  • Encourage participation in education, hobbies, recreation and community activities
