An opportunity has arisen for a SEND Assisted Travel Support Officer to join Wirral Council’s busy SEND Assisted Travel office on a 12-month, fixed term contract, with the possibility this could become permanent.

Responsibilities

  • Support the administration and operations of a busy Special Needs transport team, caring for vulnerable children and adults traveling to and from home, schools, colleges, and day centres.
  • Arrange sickness/absence cover for approximately 300 part‑time passenger assistants.
  • Process invoices and parental expenses.
  • Manage email inboxes and respond to queries and phone calls from both internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Dynamic, well‑organised individual with experience in office administration.
  • Experience working with the public and ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Outlook, Word, and Teams.
  • Ability to process invoices and payments.
  • Valid right to work in the UK; Skilled Worker visa sponsorship is not available.
