Overview
Support for Learning Assistant (Advanced) at Bonnypark Early Learning and Childcare Centre, Falkirk. The role provides support for learning resources aimed at delivering continuity for children and enabling service improvement. You will undertake a range of support activities including general supervision of children to ensure their safety and well-being. You may be required to provide more intensive support for children with additional support needs to ensure that individual plans are carried out regularly and efficiently. Support for Learning Assistants are crucial to the successful delivery of our services to children and are valued team members in many of our settings.
This role requires you to work as part of a busy team of staff, so good communication skills are essential. A positive, can-do attitude and flexibility in your approach are important attributes for this post.
Location and employment context: Bonnypark is part time (20 hours – Monday to Friday 9:30–1:30), full year and permanent within Falkirk Council Education Services. You may be asked to work in other settings across the Falkirk Council area. Salary will be adjusted pro-rata for part-time working.
If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership.
Responsibilities

- Deliver support activities related to learning resources and continuity of services.
- Collaborate as part of a busy team and communicate effectively with colleagues to support service delivery.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Must have either the benchmark qualification for the role or be working towards the qualification condition required as part of registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
- If working toward the benchmark qualification, complete it within three years by achieving the SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) SCQF Level 6.
- Register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting in the role and gain registration within six months.
- Part-time status (20 hours per week) with salary pro-rata adjustments; flexibility to work in other Falkirk Council areas as needed.
- Gain/maintain PVG scheme membership as required.
