Location: Harpenden Springs, 22-24 Grove Road, Harpenden AL5 1PX

Hours: 40 hours per week

Pay: £13.20 per hour

Contract: Full-time

Shift: Days

Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine maintenance, repairs and decorating throughout the home
  • Complete regular checks in line with Oakland Care’s Health and Safety, Emergency and Fire policies and procedures
  • Monitor and maintain equipment, fixtures and fittings
  • Make sure gardens, grounds and outdoor areas are safe and well-preserved
  • Assist with planned maintenance programmes and contractor visits
  • Perform basic plumbing, painting, carpentry and general maintenance tasks
  • Support with keeping accurate maintenance and safety records

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar maintenance, caretaking or facilities role
  • Possess good practical skills across a range of maintenance duties
  • Understand Health and Safety requirements within a workplace setting
  • Proactive, organised and able to work independently as well as being a team player
  • Excellent communication skills and enjoys working with older people
  • Takes pride in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
